Farm Credit East's Annual Winery Benchmarks Program Kicks Off

Farm Credit East's Winery Benchmarks program will hold its annual meeting in Geneva, N.Y., on August 7, 2013. The Farm Credit East Winery Benchmarks program is a unique way to measure one's business against industry peers.

Farm Credit East is excited to announce the 2013 Winery Benchmarks guest speaker will be Michael Gitter. Gitter is a founding partner of New York City-based First Press Public Relations, which offers PR, marketing and consulting services to companies in the food and beverage industry, including wineries and wine regions. He has worked closely with the New York Wine & Grape Foundation on the highly successful "NY Drinks NY" campaign and will be sharing his insights on marketing wines in New York City markets.

"Through the Winery Benchmarks program, participants work closely with an experienced Farm Credit East consultant to receive in-depth financial and operational analyses of their business," explained Gregg McConnell, director of the program. "At the annual meeting, participants are able to take part in dialogue to better understand the industry, gain constructive feedback and interact with other successful winery owners."

Data collection for this year's program is currently under way. Results will be compiled in late July and individual benchmark reports will be provided to each of this year's participants at the annual meeting.
