Fingerlakes Construction Co. Sold

Fingerlakes Construction Co., Inc. of Clyde, N.Y., has been sold to Energy Panel Structures, Inc. (EPS) of Graettinger, Iowa. The Fingerlakes manufacturing division and personnel will remain in Clyde, with plans to add the broad line of EPS products to enhance the growth of the facility.

Fingerlakes Construction Co. was started in 1969 by Frank Brisky and is currently owned by Bob Brisky, who has expanded the company from one to four locations. Brisky is a director of the National Frame Builders Association and a member of the NFBA Hall of Fame. Along with the corporate location in Clyde, branch offices are located in Batavia, Homer and Albany.

Fingerlakes is the number one post frame builder in New York state. The company manufactures complete building packages for a wide range of construction, including personal garages, commercial office complexes, municipal, equestrian, agricultural, dairy facilities, post frame buildings and many other building types. There is also a construction division with company crews to assure quality construction of the building packages.

"Both companies have a history of success in the building industry," stated Brisky. "Our company fits perfectly with the existing EPS product lines. EPS is an employee-owned company with over 30 years of experience in designing and manufacturing pre-engineered building systems. Our employees will become part of the employee ownership plan, and the purchase will allow us to expand and grow with additional product lines.

"Our staff and customers will have access to the experience and quality products from a leading manufacturer of structural insulated panels (SIPs) and pre-engineered post frame building systems."

Along with headquarters in Graettinger, EPS has a manufacturing and construction division in Perryville, Mo. With 175 employees at those locations, EPS had revenues in 2012 of over $75 million.

Energy Panel Structures, Inc. was established in 1981 as a subsidiary of MacArthur Co. EPS is an employee-owned company that serves the upper U.S. from Montana to New England with a local network of more than 350 independent authorized dealers. EPS manufactures products for Energy Star homes and is known for a diverse market of products including residential, agricultural, commercial, food processing and structural insulated panel systems.

MacArthur Co. is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. Founded in 1913, it is based in St. Paul, Minn., and has a total of 25 locations, which, along with EPS, serve the upper Midwest, West Coast, Idaho, Colorado and Montana with over $350 million in products annually.
