FarmStart, an innovative Northeast program to help young people get started in farming, is pleased to announce the approval of its 100th investment. Since the first investment was approved in August of 2006, FarmStart has invested more than $4.3 million with 100 participants in the states of New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Vermont.
"Our 100th investment is an exciting milestone for the FarmStart program," said David Boone, regional manager and FarmStart program director. "We initiated this unique program six years ago to give new entrants into the agriculture industry a healthy start. Each new investment continues to support our mission of a vibrant, entrepreneurial agricultural community in the Northeast."
